This blog's for you!

In anticipation of my next post, and in case you find yourself here on the weekend, I recommend you spend about the next 20 minutes watching a video that I tried to embed in the post but was unsuccessful.  Hence.....

[You have just witnessed my blog skills rising to a new developmental level - inserting video into my post!]

Besides Mr. Zander's entertaining and touching performance, he teaches us about the importance of maturation through piano- playing and motivation for influencing how people think.

The weblog concept matches my skills better than public speaking.  Would that I could display my passion like Mr. Zander.

Maybe when I'm older, more mature, I will challenge myself before an audience and emulate him.  My thoughts and opinions have been maturing for 30 years and I offer them freely here for you, for the taking.  This blog's for you.

Benjamin Zander is extraordinary--and I love TED talks. Thank you for sharing this--can't wait to see how this relates to your next post.

Maturation happens with presentation skills too, I'll bet. Thank you for sharing this.

Barbara,

Thank you for sharing this! The last section on 'Shining Eyes' is such an important message. I needed to hear, "Who am I being that my children's eyes are not shining?" There has not been a lot of shining in my daughter's eyes lately. In fact, she spent the entirety of last week on a locked psychiatric unit. I don't know if I can live up to the vow, "I will never say anything that couldn't stand as the last thing I ever said," but it certainly is a worthy goal ~

As much as I'm glad this page provided a meaningful message to you, Julie, I am sympathetic to you for the extremely tough week you've had. I offer both Zander and my prayers.

Just a thought...

The Weaver

  • My Life is but a weaving Between my Lord and me; I cannot choose the colors He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow And I, in foolish pride, Forget He sees the upper, And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly, Shall God unroll the canvas And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful In the Weaver's skillful hand, As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares, Nothing this truth can dim. He gives His very best to those Who chose to walk with Him.
