I can't wait to hear your interview--I think [with]tv has enormous potential, I listened to the last podcast this week. Technology is amazing! If you post a reminder closer to the date I will definitely note it on my blog!

You bet, Terri. A reminder is on the blog agenda. Thanks!

Good golly, now I feel thoroughly slothful! Well done on the interview, it's very nerve racking [even if you're talking to yourself like I am!]
Best wishes

You - slothful? Not hardly, Ma'am-hosting MIL and with 2x-as-many children as I! All should visit your blog to learn just how unslothful you are. Best back at ya!

Barbara, I have just finished listening to your interview. I had to click in and read what you wrote about Flight or Flight. As and ICU nurse, I understand the physiology of the ForF response. But I was still surprised when Marissa new psychiatrist started weaning her from her mood stabilizers and started her on Catapres. He felt that her behavior was more descriptive of a person who is hyperaroused than a person truly manic. It is too soon to know if the Catapres is working, but I am thrilled with getting rid of her morning Seroquel. I think she is much more animated (not always a good thing in a teenage girl), but she is much more aware during our school day.

I had hoped to catch up on your whole blog, but it is after midnight and Marissa's mental health worker is going to be here tomorrow AM for a home visit and to start Marissa in a "mentoring" type 1:1 therapy program. I better get to bed ~

Thank you, Julie, for your comment. I published the whole comment in order to comment that I am not familiar with all the medications you mentioned. But perhaps some of the other parents will benefit from your mention of them. I am encouraged to hear that you are seeing the positive results of a change in treatment, and have a new psychiatrist. All MDs are not equal, as you well know.

I also need to remind myself that many readers come and read posts in bunches ever-so-often.

The Weaver

  • My Life is but a weaving Between my Lord and me; I cannot choose the colors He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow And I, in foolish pride, Forget He sees the upper, And I the under side.

Not til the loom is silent And the shuttles cease to fly, Shall God unroll the canvas And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful In the Weaver's skillful hand, As the threads of gold and silver In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares, Nothing this truth can dim. He gives His very best to those Who chose to walk with Him.
