Well you know what I look like, but here’s your chance to hear my voice.
Yesterday I was interviewed by Howard Renensland for WebTalkRadio. The interview will be online starting Monday, September 18, 2008 (Show #23).
To hear the interview, go to the link for WebTalkRadio above. Click Schedule in the left-side list. When the weekly schedule comes-up click on the box A Different Perspective.
My heartfelt thanks to Howard for inviting me to interview and for making the interview so easy. I admitted to him early-on that I was nervous about doing the interview. He was very helpful in exchanging a list of questions to prepare and delaying the interview long enough that I got over it. [Just kidding, Howard!]
Leave your comments on the interview here or on the [with]tv blog on TypePad.

Other things I did yesterday….
1) I did the BIG-2x/month grocery shopping at the big discount place not-close to our house. This is a 4-hour task that includes the drive-to, shopping, loading groceries into the car – taking care to get the frozen stuff home close-to-frozen in the Texas-August-heat, drive-home, unloading groceries out of the car, putting away the frozen and refrigerated food first, repackaging some of the food for easier access, recycling the bags, and taking care of all bodily functions necessary during any 4 hours in Texas – you know drinking plenty of water and eating breakfast and lunch. What did you think I meant? Yea, well, when you drink water and eat food there are consequences. I’m just sayin’…..
2) I visited my Mom at the assistive living center on the way to shopping ‘cause her place is on the way. Took her a breakfast taco, too.
3) I cleaned-up the kitchen from the morning and put a turkey roast into the crockpot. (Maddy are you feelin’ kindred?)
4) I mowed the front lawn after the interview.
5) I floated in my pool to relax and throw-off an undercurrent of fretting all day….been worrying that I offended someone I know only online.
See, I do have a life! More therapy stuff tomorrow.

I can't wait to hear your interview--I think [with]tv has enormous potential, I listened to the last podcast this week. Technology is amazing! If you post a reminder closer to the date I will definitely note it on my blog!

Good golly, now I feel thoroughly slothful! Well done on the interview, it's very nerve racking [even if you're talking to yourself like I am!]
Best wishes

You - slothful? Not hardly, Ma'am-hosting MIL and with 2x-as-many children as I! All should visit your blog to learn just how unslothful you are. Best back at ya!

Barbara, I have just finished listening to your interview. I had to click in and read what you wrote about Flight or Flight. As and ICU nurse, I understand the physiology of the ForF response. But I was still surprised when Marissa new psychiatrist started weaning her from her mood stabilizers and started her on Catapres. He felt that her behavior was more descriptive of a person who is hyperaroused than a person truly manic. It is too soon to know if the Catapres is working, but I am thrilled with getting rid of her morning Seroquel. I think she is much more animated (not always a good thing in a teenage girl), but she is much more aware during our school day.
I had hoped to catch up on your whole blog, but it is after midnight and Marissa's mental health worker is going to be here tomorrow AM for a home visit and to start Marissa in a "mentoring" type 1:1 therapy program. I better get to bed ~

Thank you, Julie, for your comment. I published the whole comment in order to comment that I am not familiar with all the medications you mentioned. But perhaps some of the other parents will benefit from your mention of them. I am encouraged to hear that you are seeing the positive results of a change in treatment, and have a new psychiatrist. All MDs are not equal, as you well know.
I also need to remind myself that many readers come and read posts in bunches ever-so-often.
